Orangewood Christian School accepts the following state scholarships:

Florida Tax Credit Scholarship (Income Based)

The Florida Tax Credit Scholarship — commonly referred to as "Step Up For Students" — is an income-based state-funded scholarship for students entering grades K5-12.

This scholarship is administered by two different agencies.  If your family meets the requirements, it is important to apply immediately as funding is limited and awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis.

AAA 'Florida Tax Credit' Scholarship Details

FES-UA (formerly Gardiner/McKay) Scholarship

These scholarships are for Florida students three years old through twelfth grade with one of the following disabilities:

  • Anaphylaxis
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Muscular Dystrophy
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Down's Syndrome
  • Phelan-McDermid Syndrome
  • Prader-Willi Syndrome
  • Spina Bifida
  • Williams Syndrome
  • Intellectual disability (severe cognitive impairment)
  • Rare diseases as defined by the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD)
  • Deaf
  • Visually impaired
  • Dual Sensory Impaired
  • Traumatic brain injury
  • For a 4-5-year-old, being a high-risk child

A student cannot receive this scholarship if they are already the recipient of another state-sponsored scholarship (McKay and Step Up).

Financial Aid

Orangewood Christian School provides needs-based financial aid to enrolled students in TK - 12th grade.  The school uses the services of a third-party vendor to determine eligibility in awarding the limited amount of funds to assist families each year. To qualify for assistance, parents must apply through FAST and submit the most recent years tax document.  Awards will be given based on demonstrated need as determined by FAST and availability of funds.
