Mrs. Dawn Miller grew up in a Christian home and lived at a Christian Camp for 20 years, where her father was a camp director and pastor. She accepted the Lord as her Savior at age three but truly let the Lord be the King of her life in college. Coming from a family of educators, she followed in the footsteps of her two older sisters, who also became principals. She married her best friend from college, Mark, 43 years ago. They have a daughter, Brittany, and a son, Marshal, both of whom attended Christian schools from kindergarten through high school. She has been an educator for 43 years, with 42 of those years in Christian education. She has served as a principal for 37 years, working in elementary, middle, and high schools. She felt called to pursue a master's in special education to learn how to meet each child's needs through differentiation and non-traditional methods such as hands-on learning and field trips. After completing her master's, she realized she could impact more students by going into administration, leading her to pursue a master's in educational leadership. She feels fortunate to be a member of Orangewood Church and to work in the ministry at Orangewood Christian School. She counts it a privilege to work at a school with teachers and staff dedicated to serving Christ and with a mission statement centered on impacting the world for Christ.

As Principal of Orangewood Christian's Upper School, Dr. Eggert brings over two decades of dedicated service in education, driven by a profound commitment to Christian values and academic excellence. Her journey began in 2001 as a classroom teacher, and has spanned both public and private educational settings across all three divisions: lower, middle, and high school. These experiences have provided her with a comprehensive understanding of educational dynamics and a deep appreciation for the transformative power of Christian education.
In addition to her professional experience, her academic journey has equipped her with a solid foundation. She holds degrees in Bachelor of Science in Biology from Rollins College, a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Florida, and a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Florida. These academic pursuits have not only enriched her understanding of educational theory and practice but have also reinforced her dedication to fostering holistic growth among students through a Christ-centered educational approach.
In 2019, God called her into leadership at Orangewood, where she has been privileged to be a part of a community that fosters a nurturing environment where faith and learning intersect harmoniously. At Orangewood, education is more than imparting knowledge—it's about cultivating hearts and minds grounded in Biblical truth. Witnessing students grow in their faith and discipleship throughout their time here is a profound joy and privilege that fuels her passion for Christian education.
Her personal and professional life are deeply intertwined with Orangewood; for her family, it truly feels like home. Her husband, Matt, and our children, Ava (class of 2027) and Dax (class of 2037), are also a part of the Orangewood family. As a family, they enjoy the beach, great sushi, and spending time together. Some of her personal interests are reading novels and plants. She feels like you can't have too many of either.
Orangewood Christian School holds a special place in her heart. It is a place where students not only receive an outstanding education but also experience the transformative power of Christ's love in their daily lives. As Principal, she is dedicated to upholding our school’s mission, fostering an environment where students flourish academically, spiritually, and socially. Together with our incredible team, she is excited to continue guiding and empowering our students to become compassionate leaders and lifelong learners who impact the world for Christ.

Matt has served in education for over 23 years and is passionate about creating new and engaging educational opportunities for students through the use of innovative technology. Mr. Eggert believes that K-12 education should equip students, as digital natives, through the use of technology in the classroom. As a former classroom teacher, he also strives to create an ecosystem for teachers that is intuitive, boundless, and always available to shift the focus from technology to student-centered and personalized learning.
Serving Orangewood since 2019, he has led the Apple Distinguished School (ADS) initiative through the innovative "iLearn at OCS" program. iLearn ensures Orangewood’s technology is consistent for everyone, reliable, and most importantly SAFE. The ADS program allows Orangewood to participate in global initiatives and research projects.
His contributions to the advancement of education through the use of technology have earned him the honored title of Apple Distinguished Educator (ADE). As a member of the ADE community, he will continue to be an ambassador and advocate of new technologies for education. He has publications on the ADE forum where he shares his uniqueness as a Christian educator in a very secular arena. Additionally, he has brought access and opportunities to collaborate with colleagues worldwide to turn fresh, new ideas into educational realities here at Orangewood.
Matt and his wife Angel are proud parents of Ava Grace 15, and Dax Matthew 5, who love being a Ram4Life. Ava Grace will be in the OCS graduating class of 2027 and she has enjoyed all of the unique learning opportunities she has had since starting her journey at Orangewood in 2019. Dax will be in the graduating class of 2037. As a leader and parent, Matt is excited to be a part of the future and direction that OCS is headed in as a pioneer in Christian education.

Dr. Chad Buel joined the Orangewood staff in May 2024 as the Director of Spiritual Life. Before this role, he served as a student minister at Summit Church for eleven years, where he was reminded of the importance of caring adults investing in young people's lives and the power of young people to make a difference for Christ. These themes were key in his spiritual formation and will drive his passion for his role at Orangewood. He graduated from Southeastern University with a bachelor's degree in youth ministry and earned his Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary. While at Southeastern, he met his wife and followed her to Orlando after graduation. They have a daughter, a dog, two cats, and too many fish.
