Jacob Bibaud returns to school as World Series Champion!
It was an exciting morning as we welcomed 7th grade student, Jacob Bibaud, back to school after his Lake Mary All-Stars Little League team won the 2024 Little League World Series Championship!
Jacob was met this morning with banners, balloons, and proud students, faculty, and staff congratulating him for this amazing accomplishment. After a brief interview by local news channel 9, WFTV reporter Martha Sugalski, Jacob was welcomed back to school by Assistant Principal, Mrs. Diane Tancredi, who gave him his schedule and led him upstairs to where his 7th grade classmates waited to greet him.
Jacob was a pitcher for the Lake Mary All-Stars team that had competed in this year’s Little League World Series for the past two weeks in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, facing outstanding United States and International teams. The team first captured the United States Championship with a win on Saturday against Texas, a team they had lost to earlier in the double elimination tourney. Then, Jacob and his team advanced to the World Series Championship game on Sunday afternoon, facing the International Champion, Chinese-Taipei. Winning 2-1 in extra innings made them the World Champions. This win marks the first time a team fromFlorida has ever won the title of Little League World Series Champions.
As impressive as it is to win the Little League World Series, we, his Orangewood family, and the team’s many fans, are most impressed with the way Jacob and his team competed. Jacob showed great poise, team spirit, Christ-honoring character, and care for his opponents. But for all who know Jacob, this is not a surprise as he is consistently kind on and off the field. Jacob is a thoughtful and considerate student and friend and excels in so many areas of his life. Congratulations, Jacob!
