Field Trips
An integral part of education at Orangewood is engaging in co-curricular experiences like field trips. Check out some of the fun places our students explore throughout the year!
Kindergarten: Southern Hill Farms
Students get to explore vast orchards, pick fresh fruit, and enjoy fun activities like hayrides while soaking up the sunny farm vibes!
1st Grade: Gatorland
Students get up close and personal with alligators, watch thrilling live shows, and even try their hand at holding some of the park's wild residents!
1st Grade: Orlando Science Center
Students dive into interactive exhibits, conduct hands-on experiments, and explore the wonders of science.
2nd Grade: Crayola Experience
Students unleash their creativity by exploring colorful exhibits, creating their own art, and bringing their imagination to life!
2nd Grade: Sunsational Farms
Students get their hands dirty picking fresh produce, learning about sustainable farming, feeding farm animals, and exploring nature trails.
3rd Grade: Legoland
Students embark on an epic adventure, building their own creations, exploring themed rides, and discovering Lego exhibits!
4th Grade: Sea World
Students dive into the wonders of marine life as they watch thrilling animal shows, get up close to dolphins and whales, and explore exciting rides.
4th Grade: Barberville Village
Students step back in time to experience the charm of Florida’s past, discovering what life was like for early settlers.
4th Grade: St.Augustine
Students embark on a journey through history, exploring ancient forts and discovering the oldest city in the U.S.
5th Grade: Marine Science Center
Students dive into the world of ocean life, learning about marine conservation and getting hands-on with rescued sea creatures.
5th Grade: Tallahassee
Students explore the heart of Florida’s history and nature, discovering the state’s rich cultural heritage on this overnight trip!
6th Grade: Busch Gardens
Students experience a thrilling adventure with heart-pounding roller coasters, up-close animal encounters, and exciting live shows.
6th Grade: Retreat
Students participate in fun team-building activities and form relationships with their classmates and teachers.
6th Grade: Kennedy Space Center
Students blast off into space exploration, learning about astronauts, rockets, and missions into space on this overnight adventure!
ROTR Field Trips
Students in ROTR (Rams on the Rise) participate in various field trips that align with the curriculum they study throughout the year.
Grade Level Events
These are just some of the fun-filled activities students participate in.
Counting by 1’s and 10’s to 100 is introduced with the 101 Day of School celebration where students dress up like puppies and enjoy many fun dog-like learning activities.
Students experience Farm Day where live animals visit and they spend the morning doing farm-themed activities on our campus.
Students celebrate the 50th Day of School with a 1950’s Party, transforming their classroom into a Drive In Theatre, along with literacy and math activities centered on the 1950’s era.
A highlight of the Kindergarten year is the Q & U wedding where the students dress up and participate in a beautiful wedding to learn that the letters q and u are together in most words.
After a fun-filled year of learning and growth, Kindergarten students are celebrated in a Kindergarten Graduation ceremony.
Students celebrate the 100th day of school by dressing up like they're 100 years old!
Students learn all about Ancient Egypt and have fun making crafts and playing themed games to celebrate what they've learned!
Our favorite event in 2nd grade is our Veteran’s Day program where Veteran friends and family members are invited to attend a program to honor them for all they do for our country.
We host our Greek Day event as a culmination activity of our Greek culture unit. This day is a fun celebration with Greek Olympic games, Greek food, making togas and torches, and Greek art.
Students get to experience what it's like to be a Meteorologist as they learn all about weather forecasts.
3rd Graders enjoy making their very own Gingerbread house creations!
Christmas parties are more fun in style. Our 4th graders love their themed "Polar Express" Christmas party.
Science class in 4th grade includes several dissections throughout the year, including cow eye and squid dissections!
After studying The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, students participate in an immersive on-campus Narnia experience that brings the beloved story to life.
5th grade students participate in an annual science fair, where they form a question, state a hypothesis, and use the scientific method to conduct their experiment.
In Social Studies, students select a historical figure to study. After researching the lifetime achievements and contributions of their historical figure, students dress up as their figure and become a pretend Wax figure for a day - who comes to life when visited!
Families deck out their cars and drive by in a parade to celebrate their 6th grade students promotion onto the Upper Campus.
