Varsity Cross Country

Orangewood's Cross Country team encourages student-athletes to become competitive distance runners through physical, mental and emotional development. Being apart of the Cross Country team can create the foundation for a love of life-long fitness and teach them how to meet challenges both inside and outside the athletic realm.
Our hope is that by being a part of the Cross Country team, our student-athletes would see their faith come to life and they would grow fully into who God created them to be.

Our runners learn commitment, to work toward a goal, respect, and appreciation for the importance of physical well-being. Our runners learn sportsmanship, discipline, personal integrity, teamwork, time management and perseverance: qualities that will assist them in achieving success throughout their lives. Most importantly, our hope is that our runners will grow in their walk with Jesus.

In 2020, for the first time, 4 individuals advanced to the FHSAA 1A Regional meet.
In 2021 our Girls team advanced as a team to both the FHSAA 1A Regional meet and, for the first time in school history, to the FSHAA 1A State Championship meet.
In 2022 & 2023 our Girls team again advanced to compete in the FSHAA 1A State Championship. In 2022, one of our Boys advanced to compete in both the Regional meet and the FSHAA 1A State Championship.
In 2023, two of our middle school Boys qualified to compete in the FLYRA Middle School State Championship and one of our Boys advanced to compete in the FHSAA Regional meet.
