Students Support OCS Teacher Mission Trip

Posted: 27-Apr-2011  Category: Outreach

The OCS Service Club worked with teacher, Mrs. Debbie Waldheim, to collect items for her medical mission trip to India.

Debbie Waldheim and her husband, Dr. Wally Waldheim, traveled to Kathmandu, Nepal to provide medical clinics during an Alpha International Ministries pastors conference.  The goal of the conference is to provide ongoing pastoral training and encouragement for local and regional pastors.  Each pastor and his family is provided with a medical checkup and medicines if needed.  Ten of the pastors attending the conference also run children's homes taking in anywhere from 6-20 children. These children come from a variety of backgrounds and circumstances, but now they are well cared for and are living in homes where the gospel is heard and lived out daily.  Each home was seen by a doctor for physicals and overall health check ups. Bags were created containing vitamins, Tylenol, antibiotic creams, and toothbrushes and given to the house parents.  Thanks to Orangewood Christian School's service club, they were able to take enough vitamins to give each home a half a year supply of vitamins.  They are so grateful and appreciative for each donation made by our students and parents!
