SAVE THE DATE! Middle School "Walk for Zambia" | Tuesday, December 3!

"Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established." Proverbs 16:3 ESV

Last Wednesday our Middle School was blessed to host Miss Devon Leondis on campus. Devon spoke with all of our students during a special Chapel and then visited each of the Bible classes. Devon shared how God laid on her heart (when she was just 9 years old) the struggles of the people in Ghana to get access to clean water. For her 16th birthday, instead of accepting gifts, Devon asked her friends and family to donate to building a well in Ghana. Through their generosity she was able to fund THREE fresh water wells and Project Nyame Nse was born! Devon's organization has now expanded to Zambia, where they are building homes to house orphans with foster families.

During our first "Walk for a Well" fundraiser, held in December 2017, our Middle School students raised more than $17,000 and inspired Project Nyame Nse to partner with other organizations (see the LINK).

This year all of our Middle School students will be participating in our "Walk for Zambia" on Tuesday, December 3!  As the students walk they will also be carrying gallon jugs of water, to simulate the journey that many people in Africa endure to obtain fresh water. Please begin saving clean milk, tea and lemonade jugs (with screw-on caps only) to send in to the Middle School for use during our walk.

Please join us by praying for this event. We will be sending frequent updates on how our Middle School will come together to make a difference!

Second Harvest Community Service event a huge a success!

Thank you to the parents and students who came out on Saturday, September 7, to our first Second Harvest Community Service event of this school year! We had tremendous attendance with more than 35 people in attendance!  As a group we boxed almost 820 boxes of food for crisis relief - way to go OCS Middle School!  We will have three more of these events throughout the school year, so make plans now to join us at an upcoming event!
