"Walk for Zambia" - Tuesday, December 3!

We are excited to once again partner with Project Nyame Nsa as our students “Walk for Zambia” on Tuesday, December 3, 2019!

Our fundraising goal is $17,500 which, when matched by an anonymous donor, will be enough ($35,000) to build one of the twelve homes in the Village of Hope.

 

 

 

 

Middle School Sports Tailgate - Friday, December 6!

Our 6th-8th grade students and their families are invited to join us for our Middle School Sports Tailgate on Friday, December 6, from 3:00pm until 5:00pm! 

Boxed meals will be available to purchase for $4.00 each and will include a hamburger or hot dog, chips and a drink.

Middle School students who attend the tailgate (and sign in at the Tailgate Tent) will receive a FULL DRESS DOWN PASS! (Middle School athletes who are playing that day will automatically be signed in to receive the dress down pass.).  Both the boys and girls Middle School soccer teams will be playing Six different sports teams will be playing that afternoon/evening and ALL of them have Middle School students on them. Come out and show your support!

 

Middle School Rocks "Chalk the Walk"!

Congratulations to Fred Augustin (7th) and Gray Powell (8th) for winning a Middle School "Award of Excellence" at the“Chalk the Walk in Central Park” art festival on Saturday, November 2.  They each received a plaque and a $25 gift card. Congratulations to all of the students who participated for showcasing their incredible chalk art creations!

 

 

Auditions for Frozen, Jr. | This Monday & Tuesday

Auditions for the Middle School musical, Frozen, Jr., will be held on Monday and Tuesday, November 18 and 19, from 3:00 - 5:00 pm in Middle School Room 211.   All students in grades 6-8 are encouraged to attend. Students should prepare a song from the show and come ready to do a cold read from the script. A Character Breakdown is posted on the call-board across from Room 210. Rehearsals will begin on Monday, January 6, from 3:00 - 5:00 pm.  Performances will be February 27-29, 2020.  Mandatory dates:  February 18 - 21 and 24 - 29.  Backstage crew opportunities are available as well.  Email mbrightman@ocsrams.org for links to audition songs and more information.

                                                                           

                                                          

Service Hours Requirements and Form | Link

Middle School students are required to complete 16 community service hours during the 2019-2020 school year.  If your student has already logged service hours this year, please have them complete the form in order to get credit for them. Completed forms may be turned in to the Middle School Office or directly to Mr. Mann.

                  

Academic help available for Middle School students!

We are excited to partner with our High School National Honor Society students to offer an after-school tutoring center open to ALL Middle School students!  The tutoring center is available every Thursday afternoon (when school is in session) in Mrs. Rushing's classroom (MS 213) from 2:50pm until 3:50pm.  There is no charge for this service.  Students may receive help in ANY subject!  We hope our families will encourage your students to take advantage of this opportunity for extra academic help.

 

Moms In Prayer 

Come and experience the joy of praying for your child and our school. Moms In Prayer gathers to pray every Tuesday Morning, 8:00am - 9:00 am in the Upper School Conference Room. In order to volunteer at Orangewood and work with students individually, you must be fingerprinted and have a background check completed. Please follow the link for the directions to make an online appointment and to print and complete the waiver. Please return the signed waiver to the Upper School Main Office.
