High School Townhall Meeting | This Thursday, January 24, 2019

Please join Head of School Allyn Williams and Principal Richard Miller as they share highlights from the first semester along with some exciting plans for the second semester, introduce our school board members, and dedicate some time for questions & answers.

Cabaret Night | Monday, January 28 @ 7:00pm

On January 28, the Jr. and Sr. Thespians will share their talents as they prepare to attend the State Thespian competition.

Please join us at 7:00 pm in The Space for an evening of theatre and music. All friends and family are encouraged to come!
 

Mu Alpha Theta Applications | Due Friday, February 1

Interested applicants must return the completed application in its entirety and be sure all recommendations have been submitted to Mrs. Hinds by 2:35pm on Friday, February 1, 2019. No Late applications will be accepted.  Students who meet all criteria as decided by the faculty council will be notified in February.

The spring induction for the OCS chapter of Mu Alpha Theta will be on March 28, 2019.

 

Grad Bash 2019 (Seniors Only) | Link

Universal's Grad Bash is the ultimate graduation celebration for high school seniors. Encompassing BOTH Universal Studios Florida™ and Universal's Islands of Adventure™.  Students have admission to both Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios for an evening of the park's thrilling rides, the hottest musical performers, multiple dance zones and more!

We will be taking the students on Saturday, April 6, 2019 to Grad Bash.  The event takes place from 7:00pm to 2:00am.  The students will meet at Orangewood to take a charter bus at 6:00pm returning to Orangewood at 2:30am.  Please note that students cannot drive themselves and season passes do not apply (per Universal Studios policy).

Permission slip and money are due by Tuesday, February 5th.

If you'd like your student's yearbook personalized, return completed form with payment (made payable to OCS)to Mrs. Steward.  Personaliztion is $6 and each additional icon is $3. Order forms are available in the front office or use this link.  All HIGH SCHOOL yearbooks are included in your activity fee! 

 

 
Junior/Senior Prom - Date Change

The Junior/Senior Prom originally scheduled for Saturday, April 13, 2019 has been changed to Saturday, April 27, 2019 @7:00pm. 

Prom will be held at The Country Club of Orlando.  Please look for more information in February.

Service Hour Opportunities 

All Freshman and Sophomores are required to complete 16 service hours per year. 
All Juniors and Seniors are required to complete 18 service hours per year. 

***Please note that service hours are for the year and will be due in May.  They are not due at the end of each semester any longer.

 

PTF Needs Your Help!
 

Orangewood Christian School PTF is looking for parents to help celebrate our staff on their birthdays or ½ birthdays. If a birthday has passed and you would like to still celebrate that staff member please contact them as soon as possible to let them know you will be celebrating their special day on their ½ birthday. NHS Tutoring Center 

The National Honor Society tutoring center is open every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:45pm to 4:00pm.  The tutoring center will not be open on days when there is no school or when there is a half day. The center is located in Mrs. More's room,153.  

 

Moms in Prayer | Tuesdays | Conference Room 

Please join our Moms in Prayer to pray for our children and school every Tuesday morning from 8:00-9:00am.

This year’s Central Florida Consortium of Private School Counselor’s College Fair will take place on Saturday, 2/23/19. There will be over 100 college attending the fair. This is a great opportunity to learn about colleges you are interested in and discover some school you hadn't considered before.

Attendance at the fair is MANDATORY for Juniors. Students in grades 9 and 10 are invited and encouraged to attend.

This year the guidance department will be using the Remind app to increase communication with students and parents. We have created separate groups for each grade level. Please sign up by clicking on the appropriate grade level’s link for instructions.
