Upper School Christmas Program |TONIGHT |Monday, December 4 at 7:00pm in the gym

Don't miss this wonderful evening of performances by our band and choir.  Student artwork will also be on display. 

Hope Fest 2017 - T-shirt money due by Tuesday, December 5!

If you purchased a Hopefest or Kick ball t-shirt please turn your money into the HS office by Tuesday.  T-shirts are $15 a piece.

Hope Fest 2017 

The students have been working diligently to meet both their individual class goal of $500 and the collective school wide goal of $2,000. They have strung Christmas lights, they will be holding a bake sale, helping with school events and have donated their own money to benefit the students of Good Hope Country Day School located in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands.  

Current Class Totals:
Freshman Class - $748.02
Sophomore Class - $69.70
Junior Class - $254.89
Senior Class - $653.01 

Grand Total:  $1725.62

•All School Christmas Caroling | 8:15 | Gym
•Door judging will take place at break!
•Winners of Christmas door contest announced – Hot chocolate and Chick-fil-A minis for the winning class!
•Bake Sale @ Break | BRING MONEY!!

Wednesday, December 6
•Tacky Christmas sweater day (all other articles of clothing must be in dress code)
•Student led Chapel

Thursday, December 7
•Hope Fest shirt day (all other articles of clothing must be in dress code)

Friday, December 8
•Kick ball shirt day (all other articles of clothing must be in dress code)
•Last day of fundraising competition – Winning class announced @ Kickball tournament – Lunch on Monday for winners!
•Kickball tournament | 3:30pm - 5:00pm | $5.00 per adults & $3.00 per student

Athletics Mission Trip | Freeport, Bahamas | May 29, 2018 - June 5, 2018

Cost:  $840 plus airfare.  This includes lodging, meals, (5) t-shirts, transportation, and a fun day.  Does not include checked luggage, fees, souvenirs, or snacks.

Where:  Freeport, Bahamas.  The island is one of the 700 Bahamian islands where 78,000 Bahamians live.  You will enjoy this beautiful island and the people who live there.

What will you be doing:  There will be many opportunities for you to build relationships with the local kids. Part of your day you will be assisting in a local government school. The school kids will truly enjoy you being in their classes. There will be time to have many different sports clinics and help in a 3 on 3 basketball tournament. Then on Sunday you will enjoy worshiping with a local church. Just before you leave, there will be a fun day of snorkeling and shopping for souvenirs.

All Freshman and Sophomores are required to complete 12 service hours per year. (6 per semester) 
All Juniors and Seniors are required to complete 14 service hours per year. (7 per semester)
 
PTF Needs Your Help!

Orangewood Christian School PTF is looking for parents to help celebrate our staff on their birthdays or ½ birthdays. If a birthday has passed and you would like to still celebrate that staff member please contact them as soon as possible to let them know you will be celebrating their special day on their ½ birthday. Academic Help for High School & Middle School 

Teachers are generally available before and after school (7:05-7:30 a.m. & 2:35- 3:05 p.m.). High School teachers also are available at break time during the week. Some teachers are not available due to meetings or duties during these times, so please contact the teacher directly to make an appointment when help is needed.  Please click the link for information for specific classes & teachers availability. 

NHS Tutoring Center 

The National Honor Society tutoring center is open every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:45pm to 4:00pm.  The tutoring center will not be open on days when there is no school or when there is a half day. The center is located in Mrs. More's room 153.  

 
Guidance Announcements

Important Bright Futures Update for Seniors:

The Florida Department of Education is now requiring that private school students send their SAT or ACT scores to one of the Florida public colleges or universities. This is the only way Bright Futures will have access to the scores. This means if you have only applied to a private school or out of state school you must also send your score(s) to a Florida public school, even if you don’t intend to apply.
