Lower School Flex Learning
The Lower School has developed a Flex Learning Plan that is meeting the unique demands of our students and families during this time. We are using a mixture of methods to allow students to push forward in their academics while also being flexible and working in ways that is not a burden on them or their families.
We are continuing to use an effective blend of tools to provide students with a customized, age-appropriate plan for their unique Flex Learning experience. Communication methods will vary based on the needs for each grade level:
- K4 - 2nd: will receive communication via their internal classroom app, Bloomz, in addition to email.
- 3rd - 4th: will receive updates on assignments through RenWeb.
- 5th and 6th: will use Google Classroom and receive ongoing communication via email to provide assigned work for the week.
This is where teacher lessons, student assignments, and daily announcements are being posted for each respective grade. Teachers will send parents an overview of their students schedule for the next week on Wednesday’s by the end of the day. In addition, parents will also receive a follow up email on Thursday’s with important announcements regarding the following week.
Homeroom teachers are communicating with their students daily, and teachers will be recording live teaching lessons that students can access through their school-issued iPad. Our teachers and students are utilizing all of these tools to assist in the creation of assignments and turning work in. The Lower School teachers are also holding regular "office hours" through which allow parents of students to check in, ask questions, and continue to build relationships while students are participating in Flex Learning.
